DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — A former DeKalb County principal has pleaded guilty to cheating on state standardized tests.
Local media reported that former Cedar Grove Middle School principal Agnes Flanagan pleaded guilty Wednesday to forgery, making false statements and public records fraud.
Flanagan was indicted in 2013 and apologized in court for telling teachers to change students' answers on 2009 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests and changing some answers herself.
Flanagan said she faced pressure to show student improvement under benchmarks set in the No Child Left Behind Act.
Flanagan was sentenced to five years of probation, a $6,000 fine and 200 hours of community service.
