DENVER (AP) — Right-hander Severino Gonzalez has been recalled by the Philadelphia Phillies from Triple-A to start Wednesday night's game against the Colorado Rockies.
To make room for Gonzalez the Phillies optioned righty Hector Neris to Lehigh Valley on Tuesday night.
Gonzalez was 1-1 with a 10.57 ERA in two starts this year for the Phillies, beating Milwaukee on April 28 in his major league debut. He was optioned to Lehigh Valley on May 4.
Neris has not allowed a run in two relief appearances for the Phillies this season.
