NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — The North Salt Lake City Council has postponed consideration of a funding agreement that would pay for partial remediation after a devastating 2014 landslide.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1PWspOJ ) that the council was scheduled to consider the agreement for approval Tuesday, but City Manager Barry Edwards says the issue was tabled so it could be discussed in a closed meeting because of negotiation delays.
The agreement would include help from the Kern River and Questar Gas companies to pay for remediation of the landslide that hit Eaglepointe Development last August.
Eaglepointe Development is not included in the current funding agreement, although residents, Kern River and city leaders have all said the developer should contribute.
The city's remediation plan is estimated to cost $2 million.
