DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Corey Dickerson on the 15-day disabled list due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.

To fill his spot on the roster, the team recalled utility player Ben Paulsen from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday before a game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Dickerson, who turns 26 on Friday, has been bothered by his sore foot most of the season and said the inflammation has grown worse. Dickerson will wear a boot to take pressure off his foot, before beginning treatment.

He said surgery wasn't an option. Dickerson is hitting .306 with five homers and five RBIs.

Paulsen was hitting .256 with Albuquerque this season. He's been splitting his time between first base and the outfield.
