2 arrested on gun, drug, theft charges at Elko hotel

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Two suspects are being held in the Elko County Jail on bail in excess of $300,000 after their arrest on gun, drug and theft charges.

Elko police say they were called to a local hotel Friday on a report that a man and woman were staying in a room where they didn't belong.

Elko Daily Free Press reports (http://tinyurl.com/k9aatjd ) the woman identified as Kami Forbes also goes by the name Kami Fonnesbeck.

The man, Brandon Sparks, allegedly fled sheriff's deputies in February after they stopped him on the Lamoille Highway and later found a pistol near the scene.

On Friday, officers say they found a loaded gun the hotel room. They also found stolen credit cards, more than 2 ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and a ballistic armor vest.
