PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Amtrak trains are rolling once again on the busy Northeast Corridor between New York and Philadelphia with new safety measures in place. It's been almost a week since a northbound train went off the rails in Philadelphia. Today's first trains got to their destinations about half an hour late.
ATLANTA (AP) — South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has all but confirmed that he's running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. Graham tells "CBS This Morning" he believes he'd be the best commander in chief amid continued unrest in the Middle East. He pointed to the fallen Iraqi city of Ramadi as proof the U.S. must assert itself in the region.
BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq's government and Iranian-backed Shiite militias are vowing to mount a counter-offensive and reclaim Ramadi, which has fallen to Islamic State militants. An official in Anbar province says it's likely the militants killed up to 500 civilians and soldiers and forced 8,000 people to flee from their homes.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A man has been rescued after getting stuck for four days in a Nashville storm drain. Media outlets report firefighters dug into the ground and broke into a concrete pipe to free the unidentified man yesterday. It's not yet clear how the man got into the drain.
