SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Wofford graduate and NBC national correspondent Craig Melvin is returning to South Carolina to deliver the college's commencement address.

Melvin speaks Sunday morning during the graduation exercises in front of the Main Building on campus.

Almost 400 students are expected to receive their degrees.

Honorary degrees are being bestowed on South Carolina banker Hugh C. Lane Jr. of Charleston and 1968 Wofford graduate Henry C. Giles Jr., president of Spartanburg Community College.

Besides serving as a national reporter, Melvin at times fills in as a host on the network's "Weekend Today" show.

Before joining MSNBC in 2011, Melvin was a weekend anchor for WRC-TV in Washington and an evening news anchor for WIS-TV in Columbia.
