VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Regent University is adding nearly 40 degree and other programs in what it calls a new strategic initiative to sustain the growth of the faith-based Virginia Beach school.
The changes were announced Friday by Pat Robertson, Regent chancellor and CEO.
Some of the programs being offered next academic year include cyber security, paralegal studies, health care management, political communication and paralegal studies, among others.
About 65 full-time positions are being added as part of the initiative.
The university will eliminate 17 faculty and 23 staff positions in the shift to the new programs and enhanced student services.
Regent said the workers will be offered severance packages and the opportunity to apply for open positions at the university.
