NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Transportation Department says tests show that Interstate 84, between Nampa and Caldwell does not need a full rebuild. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports engineers say the road's base is in good condition and that most of the road damage is limited to the uppermost layer of asphalt.

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — An Idaho man is pleading not guilty to attempted murder after police say he tried to run over an officer during a vehicle chase in western North Dakota's oil patch. KXMC-TV reports that 27-year-old Ryan Grunig, of Montpelier, Idaho, faces several charges for the incident, which began in late March when police tried to pull him over for a traffic violation.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Eastern Idaho authorities have identified two men police say are suspects in the beating death of a 36-year-old Idaho Falls man. The Idaho Falls Police Department says they are seeking 22-year-old Tanner Cox of Idaho Falls and 21-year-old Nickolas Arguello of Ammon in the death of Josh Olzak.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho sheriff has been convicted of three felony counts of misuse of public funds. The Post Register reports that a Twin Falls County jury found Jefferson County Sheriff Blair Olsen guilty on Wednesday evening after deliberating about three hours. Olsen and his attorney declined to comment after the verdict.
