LOS ANGELES (AP) — Reliever Pedro Baez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Los Angeles Dodgers because of a strained pectoral muscle on his right side.

The rookie right-hander was injured in Wednesday night's 5-4 loss to the Miami Marlins, when he felt discomfort on his final four pitches and was removed in the eighth inning. Baez is 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA in 15 appearances, and hasn't been scored upon in his last eight spanning 8 1-3 innings.

Left-hander Daniel Coulombe was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the vacant roster spot. His only other appearance for the big club this season was on May 5 at Milwaukee. He pitched in five games with the Dodgers last season as a September call-up.
