PHOENIX (AP) — Gov. Doug Ducey has named a new director to lead the state's Department of Health Services.
Ducey named Dr. Cara Christ to head the agency that oversees public health on Wednesday. She joined the department in 2008 and has served as the department's chief medical officer, licensing director and deputy director of public health.
She obtained her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2005.
Christ replaces Will Humble, who left the department in March. Humble now works for the University of Arizona's Arizona Health Sciences Center.
