TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay's Lightning have advanced to the NHL's Eastern Conference final. The Lightning eliminated Montreal last night with a 4-1 win in the sixth game of their series. Up next for Tampa Bay, a seven-game series with the winner of the New York-Washington series, which comes to an end tonight in New York as it is tied 3-3.
NEW YORK (AP) — The Rangers and Capitals are facing off this evening in New York in the seventh game of their Stanley Cup playoff series. The New Yorkers forced the deciding game by winning the last two games of the series. Despite having dropped two straight, Washington's Alex Ovechkin (oh-VECH'-kin) has predicted a Game 7 win tonight.
HOUSTON (AP) — The NBA's Western Conference semifinal between the Clippers and Rockets is headed back to Los Angeles. Playing in front of their own fans, the Rockets stayed alive with a 124-103 win last night. The sixth game in the series will be in LA tomorrow night.
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers took a 3-2 lead over Chicago in their best-of-seven NBA Eastern Conference semifinal with a 106-101 win last night. LeBron James led the attack with 38 points while Kyrie (KY'-ree) Irving added 25. The sixth game is tomorrow night in Chicago.
UNDATED (AP) — The fifth game in two NBA playoff series will be played tonight. In Atlanta the Hawks are hosting the Wizards with the series tied at 2-2 while in Oakland the Warriors are home to Memphis in a series deadlocked at two wins apiece as well.
