SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say the person found dead inside a vehicle submerged in the Jordan River is a 27-year-old woman from Clearfield.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1FiYh04 ) that Salt Lake City police detective Greg Wilking said Tuesday the woman has been identified as Vanessa Becenti.
Investigators are still working to determine how her car ended up in the river. Wilking says that so far there is no evidence suggesting foul play. Toxicology reports are pending.
Becenti's small, white SUV was discovered Sunday afternoon by a man who regularly walks in the area. The site where the vehicle was found was not near a roadway.
Police have said it appears that the vehicle was probably driving on the railroad tracks when it fell off the bridge into the river.
