COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Crew has mutually agreed to part ways with defender Hernan Grana, granting the player's wish to return home to address family issues in Argentina.

Coach Gregg Berhalter said Grana struggled with adapting to a new country and team.

Before joining the Crew last offseason, Grana spent his entire 12-year career playing for professional teams based in Argentina, including Boca Juniors, Quilmes, Lanus and All Boys located near his hometown of Buenos Aires.

Grana appeared seven times for the Crew during which the club posted a record of 3-3-1.
