NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Trustees of a North Little Rock public library system want to hire an outside search firm to look for a new executive director after efforts to fill the post came up empty.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1PgDn6F ) reports two people have been offered the job to lead the William F. Laman Public Library System, but they declined. The former executive director died in September after receiving a diagnosis of an advanced stage of cancer eight weeks earlier.
The board of trustees approved Monday at its monthly meeting to use $18,000 from the library's endowment fund if city ads don't turn up a suitable candidate soon.
The job advertises a salary range between $70,000 and $90,000 annually.
