RADFORD, Va. (AP) — The cost of attending Radford University will increase for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Radford's Board of Visitors approved increases in tuition and fees at its meeting on Friday.

The university says in a news release that in-state undergraduate students will pay an additional $449 in tuition and mandatory fees. Out-of-state students will pay an additional $47.

Tuition and fees for in-state graduate students will increase by $500. Out-of-state graduate students will pay an additional $47.

The board also approved increases in room and board.

Radford attributes the increases to several factors, including costs associated with operating and maintaining new facilities and mandated salary, fringe benefit and health insurance rate changes.
