CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers are reviewing a bill that would make it easier to carry a concealed firearm in a public building. Republican Assemblyman John Ellison presented AB352 to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday. The measure already passed the Assembly on a 26-14 vote. The bill would allow concealed weapon permit holders to bring a concealed firearm into most any public building, like a police station. Buildings that don't allow guns would need to have a metal detector and a sign outside indicating that policy.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say they've arrested a 47-year-old renter in the shotgun slayings of a husband and wife who rented him an apartment on their property in northwest Las Vegas. Mark Carpenter was found Friday morning at the Santa Fe hotel-casino on two murder charges hours after the discovery of the bodies of 62-year-old Gary Arthur Cravish and 56-year-old Bonny Sue Cravish.

MINDEN, Nev. (AP) — A trial date has been set for the Gardnerville Ranchos man accused of killing his infant. The (Gardnerville) Record-Courier reports that 23-year-old Trent Lawrence Getty entered an innocent plea to a murder charge on Tuesday. His trial will begin Jan. 4, 2016. Getty has been in custody in Douglas County Jail since he was arrested on Jan. 10, the day his daughter Ava was taken off life support.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers are reviewing a broad-ranging sex crime bill that would criminalize so-called "revenge porn." Senators reviewed AB49 on Friday in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The bill would make it a felony to post explicit photos on a website with the intent to harass or terrorize someone.
