TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Officials have identified a 73-year-old California man who died after attempting a parachute jump off a bridge over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho. The Twin Falls County coroner on Friday said James E. Hickey of Claremont, California, died Thursday evening when his parachute deployed too late and he landed in the Snake River. BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — The ACLU of Idaho says the Cassia County School District hasn't taken necessary steps to prevent discrimination following a high school student's complaint. Declo High School senior Sierra Norman and her mother Janeil Norman filed a complaint with the Idaho ACLU in October after Sierra was banned from running for student body president. School officials say she wasn't eligible because she took too many dual-credit classes, but the Normans say the district's decision was related to the fact that Sierra is not Mormon.

Federal officials in documents say the university in March notified the U.S. Department of Agriculture it wouldn't send sheep or sheepherders to the allotments this summer.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — At least three of the four peregrine falcon chicks have hatched after nesting in a downtown Boise building. The Idaho Statesman reports that the two parent birds on the 14th floor of the One Capital Center are taking turns keeping the chicks warm.
