FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have signed linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin, quarterback Bryce Petty and defensive tackle Deon Simon, all drafted last weekend.
The team announced the signings — all four-year deals — on Thursday, a day before rookie minicamp begins. Of the Jets' six draft picks, only first-rounder Leonard Williams and second-rounder Devin Smith are still unsigned.
Mauldin, a third-round selection from Louisville, had 6 1/2 sacks last season for the Cardinals. His deal is worth about $2.95 million.
Petty was a fourth-rounder after the Jets traded up one spot to take the former Baylor star. He holds 31 school records, and his 1.18 career interception percentage is an NCAA mark.
Simon, a seventh-round pick, had 5 1/2 sacks while making 19 starts with Northwestern State the past two seasons.
