ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Havanna Belle surged late to win the $58,000 feature for 3-year-old fillies by a neck Thursday at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Havanna Belle ran a mile on turf in 1:38.83 and paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.10 as the 4-5 favorite in the field of six.
Frosty Friday returned $5.40 and $3, and Show Stealer was another head back in third and paid $3.20 to show.
The victory, worth $34,800, increased Havanna Belle's career earnings to $52,781. The Ireland-bred filly earned her first win in three U.S. starts.
