UNDATED (AP) — Two NBA playoff games are being contested today. In Atlanta the Hawks open up their best-of-seven second-round series with Washington while in Oakland the top-seeded Warriors are playing Memphis in Game 1 of their series.

UNDATED (AP) — There are three NHL playoff games being played today and in Montreal the visiting Lightning are looking for a big win. They won the first game of the seven-game series with the Canadiens and would take a 2-0 lead home to Tampa for Game 3 with a victory today. The other games feature Chicago home to Minnesota and Anaheim home to Calgary.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Reliever Jordan Walden of the St. Louis Cardinals has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with of an inflamed right biceps. He's 0-1 with an 0.87 ERA in 12 games with 12 strikeouts in 10 1-3 innings.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Rays have placed center fielder Desmond Jennings on the 15-day disabled list with left knee soreness. He hasn't played since leaving a game April 25 with the injury. Jennings is the 14th Tampa Bay player to go on the DL this season.

KANSAS CITY (AP) — The final game of an early-season matchup of the top two teams in the American League Central is being played today in Kansas City. The Royals won two of the first three games against Detroit and began the day with a half-game lead over the Tigers in the division.
