CHICAGO (AP) — The National Football League player draft starts this evening in Chicago. It is believed that Tampa Bay will pick Florida State quarterback Jameis (JAY'-mihs) Winston with the top pick. The rest of the top five picks belong to Tennessee, Jacksonville, Oakland and Washington.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida men's basketball coach Billy Donovan is moving to the pros. The Oklahoma City Thunder have announced that Donovan and the team have agreed to a contract. Donovan inherits a team with 2013-14 MVP Kevin Durant and 2014-15 scoring champion Russell Westbrook.
UNDATED (AP) — Defending NBA champion San Antonio is a win away from advancing to the second round of this year's playoffs. Likewise Chicago's Bulls. Tonight the Spurs are hosting the Clippers with a 3-2 lead while the Bulls are in Milwaukee to face the Bucks with the same 3-2 advantage.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Wiggins of the Timberwolves has been named NBA rookie of the year. Coming out of Kansas the forward averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds while playing all 82 games for the Timberwolves this season. He was drafted first overall by Cleveland last summer before being packaged in a deal that sent Kevin Love to the Cavaliers.
UNDATED (AP) — Second-round play in the NHL playoffs gets underway tonight with two games. In New York the Rangers open play against the Washington Capitals, while in Anaheim the Ducks are entertaining Calgary.
