Mary Richards reportingThe debate over the true author of "Footprints in the Sand" is heading to court.
The poem is on posters and Bible covers, in church talks and dramatic readings. It says, in part: "Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, and other times there were just one."
We may see those footprints in court. A New Jersey man is suing, saying his mother wrote the song years ago. Two other women say they own the copyright.
About 12 people in all say they were inspired to write the poem but thought putting an author's name on it would take away from its scriptural quality.
