ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Firefighters have extinguished a blaze that started in a restaurant inside a hotel on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca.
Fire officials say the blaze was reported shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday at the 153-room Statler Hotel.
Officials tell the Ithaca Journal (http://ithacajr.nl/1ySKfzs ) the fire was extinguished about 45 minutes after firefighters arrived.
Fire officials say the blaze started in a kitchen duct system inside the hotel's Terrace Restaurant. The fire forced guests and staff to evacuate the hotel as snow fell with the temperature around 32 degrees.
No one was injured.
The full-service Statler is a "teaching hotel" for Cornell's School of Hotel Administration.
