SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis has left the game against the San Francisco Giants in the ninth inning with a right hand injury.

With the game tied at 2 Wednesday night, Buster Posey hit a one-out single against Chris Hatcher, who then plunked Justin Maxwell. The ball came off Maxwell then hit Ellis' mask before landing hard on his right hand. Athletic trainer Stan Conte came to check on Ellis, who attempted to make two throws but both were wild into right field before he left the game.
