This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Some people dread buying a new car. They have heard horror stories of high-pressure sales people. They agonize over makes and models. They worry if they got the right car for the right price. It can be a complicated process.
For the Page family, selling cars is an every day occurrence. Now entering its fourth generation of family ownership in the auto industry, the Page family wants to make buying a car as simple as possible. Since 1922, the Pages have been matching clients with the perfect car through their dealership, Riverton Chevrolet.
Owner Chris Page says his grandfather, Gwynne Page, opened the auto dealership in Riverton in 1922. In 1938, Gwynne converted the inventory from Ford to General Motors vehicles. His son, Don Page, took over in 1957, expanding the dealership and modernizing the shop over the next three decades.
Don's son, Chris, carried the dealership into its third generation of family ownership when he took over in 1984. In 1993 he moved Riverton Chevrolet from its original location in Riverton to become the first dealer in the Southtowne Auto Mall, where it is still located today. Chris's son, Logan, recently became involved in the business, leading the company into its fourth generation of family ownership.
Chris says the company couldn't be doing better, and in 2007 it was the largest Chevrolet dealer in volume in both Utah and Colorado.
Riverton Chevrolet recently celebrated the grand opening of its newly remodeled, state-of-the-art facilities, which include a large, open showroom, a dozen large-screen video displays and touch screen kiosks customers can use to customize vehicles with, including different colors and accessories. Vehicle accessories have become a popular portion of the business.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
