NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The fatal shooting of a black man by a white South Carolina police officer is bringing another investigation of an earlier case in which the same officer was accused of excessive force. Michael Slager had been cleared of any wrongdoing in a 2013 case involving his use of a Taser against another unarmed black man. Witnesses say investigators never contacted them as part of the investigation.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — A cameraman for a Boston TV station has been banned from the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez for following jurors. The judge today banned the cameraman for WHDH-TV from the courthouse after he testified under oath that he had followed jurors to their parking spots a day earlier. He said he didn't talk to them and at the time thought he wasn't doing anything wrong. Meanwhile, the 12 jurors resumed deliberations today.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A judge has ordered a Philadelphia woman jailed pending trial on charges she tried to join and martyr herself for the Islamic State group. The judge's ruling came after prosecutors argued at a detention hearing that Keonna Thomas is a flight risk and a threat to the community. She's been in custody since her arrest last week. Prosecutors say the unemployed mother of two young daughters made arrangements to fly to Spain last month with hopes of reaching Syria to fight with the terror group.

UNDATED (AP) — The security checks you go through before you board an airplane don't always reflect security levels elsewhere at the airport. An Associated Press investigation found that over the last decade, there have been hundreds of incidents in which intruders breached security on airport property. In Los Angeles, a mentally ill man hopped the perimeter fence eight times in less than a year -- twice reaching stairs that led to jets. A man in Chicago pedaled his bicycle across a runway at O'Hare, and knocked on a terminal door. Airport officials say none of the episodes involved terrorism.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A tornado warning has been posted for three counties in northern Illinois. This, as much of the Midwest is facing a threat of violent weather from a storm front that is moving eastward. And a similar threat could face much of the East tomorrow -- including Augusta, Georgia, where the Masters golf tournament is under way.
