SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say three teenagers broke into a northern Utah auto repair business and damaged 31 cars as they conducted their own demolition derby. Authorities say the boys cut through a fence at the secure lot of the West Haven business late Thursday night, found keys in some of the cars and rammed the vehicles into each other.Police say the teens aged 14 through 16 were caught after they returned to the scene with a total of four friends.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Tesla Motors has built a new showroom in Salt Lake City to sell its sleek electric cars, but no one can buy, drive or discuss prices there after Utah officials ruled it violates state laws about car makers owning dealerships. Jim Chen, a vice president with Tesla, says the company built the showroom after speaking to regulators and believing they'd be allowed to sell their all-electric cars. Chen says the company is still speaking with Utah officials and hopes to find a solution soon.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City man convicted in the shooting death of a teenage boy has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. Judge Robin Reese handed down the maximum sentence Monday to 33-year-old Frank Reyos. Prosecutors said he killed 16-year-old Kenyatta Winston with a single bullet to the back of the head in 2012 as retribution after Winston left him behind during a gunfight with gang members the day before.

MOAB, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a 63-year-old South Dakota woman has died after an all-terrain vehicle rolled over her on a popular Utah desert trail. The Grand County Sheriff's Office says Karen Johnson from Millbank, S.D. died Monday at an eastern Utah hospital. Johnson was riding the Hell's Revenge Trail east of Moab on Monday afternoon and was trying to climb an obstacle on the trail when her ATV rolled on top of her. She was not wearing a helmet.
