SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Chris Tillman has been selected to start the Baltimore Orioles' opener at Tampa Bay on April 6.

Manager Buck Showalter picked Tillman as his opening-day starter for the second consecutive season.

Tillman was 13-6 with a 3.34 ERA last season for the AL East champion Orioles. The 26-year-old is set to become the first Baltimore pitcher to start consecutive openers since Jeremy Guthrie in 2008 and '09.

Tillman has a final tuneup against Pittsburgh on Wednesday night.
