FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — University of North Alabama officials say applications from incoming freshman have increased by about 20 percent.
The TimesDaily reports (http://bit.ly/1bfNaYy) UNA Vice President of enrollment management Thomas Calhoun said during a board of trustees meeting on Tuesday that the school's freshman acceptance rate is also up by about 22 percent. Calhoun said the quality of the applicants has also improved over time.
Calhoun said he thinks the school will see enrollment stabilize after years of enrollment decline. The newspaper reports that Calhoun is helping spearhead an initiative to steady the university's enrollment through recruitment and retention programs.
