WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — A Purdue University group has developed a resource to help farm families and owners of small businesses keep important information handy in the event they need it in an emergency.

Purdue's Women in Agriculture team developed the Code Red spreadsheet with separate sections for personal and business information such as passwords, bank accounts, rental agreements and insurance papers.

Kelly Heckaman, a member of the Women in Agriculture team, says Code Red can be a go-to resource if something happens to a key member of a management team. With the essential information on hand, farms and other small businesses can continue to operate without a long delay.

Women in Agriculture has set up training sessions beginning Thursday to introduce Code Red. Those interested in attending can visit www.ag.purdue.edu for more information.
