BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho Senate panel has introduced legislation seeking corporate sponsorships to help fund the state's cash-strapped parks system. Parks and Recreation Director David Langhorst assured lawmakers today that Idaho's parks wouldn't become littered with logos. Instead, Langhorst told the Senate Resources and Environment Committee that the agency's board of directors would make sure the sponsorships would be tasteful.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho lawmaker upset with federal judges who have overturned same-sex marriage bans across the nation is proposing that Congress impeach judges who fail to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Republican Rep. Paul Shepherd of Riggins introduced the non-binding resolution today to the Idaho House State Affairs Committee. Shepherd says that federal judges are adjudicating against the intent of U.S. Constitution, focusing primarily on the multiple rulings that gay marriage bans are illegal. Idaho's gay marriage ban — passed in 2006 — was overturned on Oct. 15.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho lawmakers are considering bumping the state sales tax to 7 percent with a 1-penny increase. Lawmakers are also looking at replacing the state's graduated income tax rate with a flat rate of about 6.6 percent for individuals and corporations. The Idaho Statesman reports that lawmakers say the plan will create economic stimulus while boosting money for roads and bridges. The plan would eliminate the sales tax on groceries.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A new website is trying to give Internet viewers a taste of the mountaineering journey up Grand Teton's 13,770-foot summit. The new web-based interactive from Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming takes viewers from the trailhead to the summit with maps, video and audio clips and photos. It's aimed at students as well as people who might be able to make the excursion up the highest peak in the Teton Range.
