COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A massive manhunt is under way in Denmark for the gunmen responsible for two separate shootings in Copenhagen. A man opened fire at a free speech event at a cultural center Saturday, killing one man and wounding three police officers. A second shooting near a downtown synagogue after midnight killed one man and wounded two police officers.
KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainians are hoping the latest cease-fire holds. It went into effect just after midnight local time. That's about seven hours ago. There's no word yet on how effective it is but both Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed separatists are already trading accusations of fresh attacks. One location where fighting has been intense is a key railway hub in eastern Ukraine.
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — U.N. Security Council members are considering a resolution on Yemen. The draft demands that Shiite Houthi (HOO'-thee) rebels "immediately and unconditionally" withdraw forces from government institutions, release U.S.-backed President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his Cabinet from house arrest, and engage "in good faith" in U.N.-led peace talks.
BOSTON (AP) — A blizzard warning is in effect for coastal areas from Connecticut to Maine through Monday morning. Another storm is bearing down on the Northeast. Southern New England is likely to receive 8 to 14 inches of snow. Maine could get up to 2 feet. Officials say the high winds could lead to power outages. Air, rail, bus and ferry service in the Boston area is being shut down.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota's chief federal prosecutor says an upcoming White House meeting on countering violent extremism will be a chance for community leaders from across the country to share ideas about how to shut down terrorist recruiting pipelines. U.S. Attorney Andy Luger will lead a delegation of local law enforcement and Somali community leaders to Wednesday's meeting.
