Tom Callan reportingBrine shrimp and millions of flies chase away Great Salt Lake Adventures.

Down there in the murky water, pesky brown brine shrimp swirl. They're hors d'oeuvres for hungry flies.

"I've gone out and turned around maybe a couple hundred yards out, turned around and come back and said, 'No, I'm not doing this,'" said sailor Jim Munter.

He says he is often blinded by the flies. Great Salt Lake Adventures, the boat company, blames the flies for closing it down.

"I'm sorry to hear that, but I can see where they would, because those brine shrimp can just drive you crazy," Munter said.

Score one for the flies.
