DELHI, N.Y. (AP) — A former biology teacher for an upstate New York high school has been sentenced to six months in jail for having sex with two male students.
The Daily Star of Oneonta reports (http://bit.ly/1zSSHeZ ) 29-year-old Stephanie Fletcher was also sentenced Monday to 10 years of probation for pleading guilty to two counts of criminal sex act. Prosecutors say the illicit behavior involved two underage students at Walton High School in rural Delaware County.
The judge told Fletcher that she will be placed on the state's Sex Offender Registry as a result of her conviction on sex crimes.
Fletcher was married and living with her husband when she was arrested by state police in November 2012. She had been employed by the Walton school district for about five years before resigning that summer.
