DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Police say a shooter in suburban Atlanta targeted his ex-wife and several children, but they don't know why. Four people died and two were wounded before the gunman apparently killed himself.
MONROEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Pittsburgh-area shopping center erupted into chaos when a man opened fire in a Macy's, wounding three people, two critically. Police went store to store to evacuate the mall. Police say a male victim was the target and the gunman is at large.
SWALL MEADOWS, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters have the upper hand now on a wind-driven wildfire in two small California towns at the eastern base of the Sierra Nevada. But that wasn't the case earlier when 40 homes were destroyed as the blaze burned nearly 11 square miles. It's now 50 percent contained.
BOSTON (AP) — New Englanders who likely have already had enough of winter are about to get smacked again. A winter storm warning is in effect for a large swath of southern New England, including in Boston, in Providence, Rhode Island, and in Hartford, Connecticut, until the early morning hours of Tuesday. Snow totals could be a foot or more.
BEIJING (AP) — China is still showing signs of economic weakness as imports and exports declined in January. The government says exports dropped 3.2 percent to 1.23 trillion yuan ($200 billion) in January year-on-year, compared with a 9.7 rise in December. Imports tumbled 19.7 percent to 860 billion yuan ($140 billion) after a decline of 2.4 percent a month earlier. The trade surplus expanded 87.5 percent to 366.9 billion yuan ($60 billion).
