NEW YORK (AFX) - Iconix Brand Group Inc., an apparel licensing and brand management company formerly known as Candie's, on Thursday said it plans to launch a new advertising campaign this fall for its Mudd line of clothing that targets the teen market.
The company did not disclose how much it intends to spend on the campaign, or how it ranks with previous Mudd efforts.
The campaign, called "Mudd Girls Move the World," includes real-life young women, who were chosen for their inner beauty and their aspirations to make a difference in the world, Iconix said. They are clad in Mudd clothing and accessories and each ad tells their individual story.
To help launch the campaign, Iconix said it will donate a total of $30,000 to the causes of the six girls in the ads.
The company said it plans to place the ads in publications like Teen People and Seventeen. It has also launched a page on its web site where girls can share goals and learn about opportunities to achieve them.
Shares of Iconix rose 83 cents, or 5.5 percent, to $16 on the Nasdaq. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $6.11 to $18.09. Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be
