DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Fourth-ranked Duke avenged an early season loss to Notre Dame by crushing the 10th-rated Irish 90-60 this afternoon. Jahlil Okafor (jah-LIHL OH'-kah-forh) added 20 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow freshman Justise Winslow added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Duke shot a blistering 81 percent in the first half and used an early 43-7 run to give Notre Dame its worst loss since 1999.

MORGANTOWN, W.V. (AP) — Rico Gathers had 17 points and 16 rebounds as the 19th-ranked Baylor Bears downed 15th-rated West Virginia 87-69 in Morgantown. Royce O'Neale and Taurean Prince added 15 points apiece for Baylor, which was never threatened after building a 22-point advantage in the first half.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The University of Arkansas has signed football coach Bret Bielema (BEE'-lah-mah) to a two-year contract extension and a raise, theoretically keeping the coach at the school through the 2020 season. Bielema led to the Razorbacks to a 7-6 season and their first bowl game in three seasons last year. The former Wisconsin coach was 3-9 in his first year in Arkansas in 2013, inheriting the fallout from the Bobby Petrino scandal and one season under interim coach John L. Smith.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Pitcher Jarrod Parker has suffered his first major league loss of the year as the Oakland Athletics beat him in arbitration. Parker will receive $850,000 this year instead of the $1.7 million he was seeking. He is 25-16 with a 3.68 ERA in 62 starts since making his big league debut for Arizona in 2011.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The leaders have teed off in the third round of the PGA's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. Spencer Levin made the turn at 9-under to grab a share of the lead with Harris English. Jimmy Walker and Chad Campbell were among those at minus-8.
