Murray State wins 20th, extends streak with 82-72 victory

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Jarvis Williams scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Murray State reached 20 victories in running their winning streak to 18 straight with an 82-72 victory over Southeast Missouri on Thursday night.

The Racers (20-4, 10-0 Ohio Valley) have the nation's second-longest current streak behind 22-0 Kentucky.

Williams picked up his ninth double-double this season and 23rd of his career. T.J. Sapp added 19 points, Cameron Payne 16 and Jeffery Moss 10.

Southeast Missouri (10-13, 4-6) played without leading scorer Jarekious Bradley, out with a concussion sustained during practice Wednesday. Isiah Jones scored 19 points, Antonius Cleveland 17 and Nino Johnson 16.

Murray State, up five at halftime, had a 13-0 run to make it 70-48 with 6:57 remaining. The Redhawks responded with a 24-8 run to get within 78-72 with a minute to go but the Racers made four free throws after that.
