LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say investigators have searched a home in northwestern Virginia linked to political consultant Tony Dane as part of an investigation into an alleged extortion attempt against a Republican state Assemblyman Chris Edwards. Edwards reported in December that he was approached about changing his vote for state Assembly speaker. Dane tells The Associated Press he hopes police "get to the truth."

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada gambling regulators say they're adapting to the growth of online gambling. Nevada Gaming Control Board chairman A.G. Burnett told a state Senate committee today that the department is transferring 10 positions from the investigations division into a number of other departments, including three who will now work cybercrime investigations.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Caesars Entertainment says new CEO Mark Frissora is being paid a $1.8 million base salary and bonuses. Caesars Entertainment said in a financial filing today that Frissora's employment agreement is for a four year term that can be renewed annually automatically. Frissora was most recently the chairman and CEO of rental-car company Hertz before stepping down in September.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's unseasonably warm weather is expected to give way to high winds and rain as a winter storm makes its way into the Sierra. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for much of the Sierra where winds are forecast to gust up to 55 mph today and could top 100 mph over the mountaintops tomorrow.
