MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police say a Miami Beach man ordered his 9-year-old niece into a garbage bin outside their apartment and then punched her in the head several times because he said she was lying to him.
Neighbors called police Wednesday night, saying they were concerned for the girl's safety.
When police arrived at the apartment, Jesus Crys wouldn't open the door. They eventually arrested the 30-year-old Crys on several charges. He was in jail Thursday and no attorney was listed for him.
The girl was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say Crys accused the girl of lying and removed her from her room, took her outside and punched her several times.
