HARROGATE, Tenn. (AP) — Lincoln Memorial had its nation-longest winning streak snapped at 20 Wednesday night when Charles Clark scored 30 points to lead Carson-Newman to an 87-72 upset.
Lincoln Memorial (20-1, 14-1 South Atlantic Conference), ranked No. 1 in the NABC/Division II Coaches' Poll, and entered the game as one of three unbeaten teams across all three NCAA levels, along with Kentucky and Division III Marietta.
The Railsplitters' had won 25 straight home games and 25 consecutive conference games — their last league loss coming at Carson-Newman on Feb. 4, 2014.
Lincoln Memorial is one of the winningest teams in the NCAA over the past four seasons, going 126-19.
