NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Winfield Willis, Damon Lynn and Tim Coleman combined for 54 points as NJIT rolled past Delaware State 69-51 in a nonconference game on Tuesday night.

Willis made 4 of 7 from long range to total 20 points, Lynn had 17 points and seven assists and Coleman had 17 points and nine rebounds for NJIT (14-10).

The Highlanders, who have won nine of their last 10 games, raced to an early lead, were up 38-24 at the half and led 59-35 midway through the second half. Delaware State never challenged in the second period.

NJIT made 26 of 60 from the floor (43.3 percent) while limiting the Hornets to 19-of-59 shooting (32.2 percent). The Highlanders also had 21 assists, seven steals and six blocked shots.

Amere May had 18 points and seven rebounds and Tyshawn Bell added 10 points for Delaware State (10-12).
