BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Dre Willis scored 14 points and added five boards, four assists, and three steals to lead Vermont to a 68-49 victory over Maine on Tuesday night.

Cam Ward also finished with 14 points off the bench and Kurt Steidl added 13 points for the Catamounts (13-10, 8-2 America East Conference), who have won eight of their last 10 and outscored Maine 30-9 off the bench.

Vermont shot 56.5 percent from the field but the story was its defense. The Catamounts held Maine to 32 percent, including 1 of 16 from 3-point range. Since the 2012 season, they are 38-4 when holding opponents below the 60-point plateau.

Vermont opened the game on a 19-6 run and led by 20 at halftime. Maine cut into the lead in the second half, but got no closer than 12.

Kevin Little led Maine (2-21, 1-9) with 17 points.
