(KSL News) Thousands of gallons of water are bubbling up through the pavement on 1300 South tonight.
A watermain broke in two places just after 4 o'clock this afternoon. Police say the pipe is apparently cracked under the pavement at 500 West and at 700 West on 1300 South.
As a result, 1300 S. is closed in that area, so motorists aren't able to drive under the freeway overpass.
City crews are expected to be working on the problem throughout the night and hope to have things fixed in the morning.
Several businesses are without water tonight. The cause of the two breaks is not known.
