SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Look! Superheroes!
Fans and celebrities of pulp fantasy will abound in Salt Lake City this weekend, with Comic Con's FanXperience at the downtown Salt Palace Convention Center.
Salt Lake Comic Con founder and producer Dan Farr says activity and excitement has built since Salt Lake Comic Con in September and the FanX announcement last November.
The fan fest is the fourth Salt Lake Comic Con event.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker declared Thursday the city's "Day of Heroes."
He says he expects every kind of comic book, movie and television hero, from Captains of the Enterprise and leaders of the Rebellion, to costumed heroes.
The mayor calls it a celebration to share and strengthen the arts and culture through comics, crafts, movies, games and even steampunk unicorn Deadpool costumes.
