STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Jett Raines scored 14 points and Stacy Davis had nine points and nine rebounds to lead Pepperdine to a 50-43 win over Pacific on Thursday night.
The Waves (13-8, 6-4 West Coast) made only 17 of 51 shots for 33.3 percent but the Tigers (10-12, 2-8) were just 15 of 52 (28.8 percent).
Ray Bowles scored 10 points for Pacific (10-12, 2-8), which lost its fourth straight. Eric Thompson and Jacob Lampkin both had 10 rebounds.
Pepperdine ended the first half on a 12-2 run to lead 22-21. The game was tied four times in the second half until A.J. Lapray put the Waves ahead for good on a 3-pointer with 4:09 left. A three-point play by Bowles made it 46-43 with 23 seconds left but Jeremy Major made four free throws to ensure the win.
The Waves won their fourth conference road game for the first time since 2004.
