WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Marcus Thornton scored 24 points on 8-for-16 shooting to propel William & Mary to a 100-79 win over Hofstra on Wednesday night.
Daniel Dixon sank all six of his 3-pointers to finish with 18 points and Terry Tarpey added 17 as the Tribe (13-7, 7-2 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 65 percent from the floor on 54 attempts and reached triple digits for the second time this season.
William & Mary broke away early in the first half with an 11-0 run capped by Oliver Tot's layup that made it 16-5 with 13:38 to go until the break. The Tribe took a 54-34 advantage into halftime and the margin never fell below double figures the rest of the way.
Brian Bernardi led Hofstra (14-8, 5-4) with 23 points, while Ameen Tanksley added 20 points to go with 10 rebounds, and Juan'ya Green had 14 points.
