BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A new legislative report shows that an unequal distribution of raises occurs when lawmakers fail to budget for competitive public employee salaries. The Office of Performance Evaluations report was presented yesterday when a panel, made up of members from the Idaho House and Senate, is preparing to submit a recommendation on raising state employee salaries by January 16th.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An Idaho man accused in a scheme that skimmed at least $79,000 from 250 people who expected him to manage their Social Security money has pleaded guilty. The Oregonian reports that Golden W. Barrett of Idaho Falls faces a maximum 20 years in prison for his wire-fraud conviction.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Idaho fish and game officers not only rescued some deer trapped in a diversion of the Snake River in southern Idaho, they also warmed up an adult doe and her fawn by wrapping them in blankets with warm water bottles placed around them. KTVB reports that it took two officers more than five hours last weekend to get the deer out and warm them up.
