LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say a Boeing 737 bound for Miami with 118 people aboard returned to Las Vegas after the pilot reported seeing a cockpit warning light. An American Airlines spokesman says an in-flight emergency was declared as a precaution, and it was resolved safely when the aircraft landed at McCarran International Airport this afternoon. Crews says Clark County firefighters inspected the plane after it landed and declared it safe.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say they've arrested a man in what investigators think was a random sex attack and slaying of a woman collecting cans for recycling behind a bar east of downtown Las Vegas. An Officer says police don't think 24-year-old Jerry Howard of Las Vegas had any prior connection with the victim, Kathy Shines. It's not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Hunters and sportsmen are descending on Reno this week, and tourism officials say they're bringing lots of money with them. The Wild Sheep Foundation kicks off its Hunting and Sporting Expo for the 25th year in Reno beginning tomorrow. The event runs through Sunday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — At a conference as vast as International CES where some 160,000 people can't possibly see every new gadget and gizmo offered, how can a company get noticed among the noise? Hire a famous face. Lending their celebrity to tech companies this week are retired NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, comedian and television host Nick Cannon and several athletes.
